Showing Up & Being Part of Something
Happy Monday! Football fan or not, it’s hard to be online today without seeing coverage of last night’s Super Bowl. We’re not here to drop hot takes on interceptions or debate the best commercials (though, let’s be real, some were solid). But, there's one thing we keeping thinking about.
Yesterday, millions of people gathered - at the stadium, in living rooms, at local businesses - to be part of something.
Whether they came for the game, the halftime show, or just the snacks, people showed up because they wanted to feel connected - to a team, to music, to a moment, to each other. To something bigger than themselves.
That’s the same energy we’ve been feeling as we’ve bopped around South Carolina these past six weeks:
100+ joined us on January 14th for our SC Legislative Kickoff Celebration at the State House
We've connected with 200+ youth & young adult leaders spanning 19 counties at the 4-H Pinckney Leadership Roundup exploring civic participation & what it means to show up for communities
Gathered with 55+ South Carolinians - many of them college students - to listen and discuss the state of our country and fragile democracy (scroll down to see more)
⚡️ People are showing up. They’re showing up because they want to be part of something. ⚡️
The desire to feel connected is stronger than ever. And, it's why we’ve picked Connecting People, Place & Power as our theme for 2025 - to guide us, to ground us, and to build something even bigger together.
In the weeks ahead, we’ll be sharing more about what that means and how it will shape our year. But for now, know this - we’re so glad you’re here and can’t wait to keep building this little something with you.
