One of our favorite stories?
Canvasser Waze!
As one of 13 organizations selected for the Center for Artistic Activism’s Unstoppable Voters 4x4 Program, we teamed up with Fair Count and Public Wise to tackle a critical challenge: How can we make voter outreach safer for canvassers, especially in high-risk areas?
Our solution?
Canvasser Waze, a real-time, crowdsourced tool that helped organizers:
✅ Flag unsafe locations
✅ Identify local businesses offering safe spaces
✅ Share on-the-ground safety updates
✅ Hear trusted voices guiding them along the way
✅ Make the whole experience more engaging & interactivePiloted in NC, SC, MS, and GA, Canvasser Waze reached 200+ households and 35 businesses, giving us invaluable insights into voter outreach safety. This project laid the groundwork for future innovations in civic tech and voter protection.
