Our Elections Are Not Cancelled Virtual Reality Check + Action Hour: Confused by headlines? Wondering who actually runs our elections? What’s real vs. just the latest panic cycle? Let’s separate fear from fact!

On this 60 minute virtual session we’ll break down who runs elections, what powers they have (and don’t), how to spot misinformation, + how you can help protect voting rights without burning out.

If you’re feeling confused or overwhelmed about the state of our elections, you’re not alone. This practical, nonpartisan conversation + action hour is for you!

Reimagination Lab Little Free State House: Last year, in one of our pilot Reimagination Lab workshops, community leaders came together to dream about what the South Carolina State House would be like if it centered the community and not those in power. They dreamt of a civic space that provided all kinds of resources to the community, from the educational (think a coloring book highlighting the stories of little-known South Carolinian civil rights leaders) to the fun (a recipe swap) to the practical (tools and guides to navigating local government) to the lifesaving (narcan and other healthcare supplies).

They built a Little Free State House - a nod to Little Free Libraries and Blessing Boxes - and filled it to their hearts’ content.

In this workshop, you’ll join other community leaders to learn about the power of art + imagination in advocacy and organizing and dream up your own reimagined State House and work together to fill it up with your vision.

Reimagination Lab Zines as a Tool for Liberation: Zines! What are they and where do they come from?

This workshop will briefly explore the democratic and anti-authoritarian genesis of the zine, or self-published magazine. You’ll learn about their roots in both the world of the arts and world of radical politics. We’ll dream together about how we - armed only with paper, glue, a stapler, and a copier - can continue to use zines to reimagine and recreate our communities. You’ll also have an opportunity to conceptualize and create your very own zine.

$10 suggested donation (if the donation is a barrier, you can use the “other” option when RSVPing)
